The Nanjing Metro Line 4 is the seventh line of the Nanjing Metro that has been completed and put into operation. It was officially put into operation on January 18, 2017, with a purple logo color. The Phase I project of Metro Line 4 passes through Gulou District, Xuanwu District, Qixia District, and Jiangning District. The line starts from Longjiang Station in the west, runs east from Nanjing Main City Road 1, wraps around Zijin Mountain in the north, enters Qilin New City, and ends at Xianlinhu Station in the east. The first phase of Metro Line 4 has a total length of 33.8 kilometers, including 32.3 kilometers of underground lines and 1.5 kilometers of elevated lines; There are a total of 18 stations, including 17 underground stations and 1 elevated station; The train adopts a 6-car B-type drum shaped train, jointly manufactured by CRRC Nanjing Puzhen Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. and Alstom France.

As of March 2017, the daily average passenger flow of Nanjing Metro Line 4 was 140000 people. On December 7, 2017, 191000 passengers were the highest daily passenger volume on Line 4 of the subway.

The entire project uses more than 1000 intelligent measurement and control instruments PD19 series from Jiangsu Sifel Electric Co., Ltd., and is equipped with a set of Svere-EMS energy management system. By using the S3100 series communication management machine at each station, data is collected from the 0.4kV switchgear, station environmental control cabinet, 110kV incoming line of the main substation, and 35kV incoming line circuit instruments. The power lighting load, commercial load, traction load, total load, and main transformer losses are monitored, and the data is transmitted to the energy management system backend of the control center through the subway backbone fiber optic network provided by the communication profession.

Users can achieve automated monitoring of energy consuming equipment through this system, including real-time operation data monitoring, equipment status monitoring, and fault alarms; Real time online energy consumption measurement: Energy consumption measurement and storage of all stations and buildings along the line, as well as real-time online sub item and household measurement; Energy quality monitoring: Real time monitoring of parameters such as voltage, current, power, frequency, and power factor; Statistical analysis, storage, and querying of energy consumption data; As a tool for analyzing and making decisions for subway management, it can also serve as an assessment tool for various electricity consuming units; Electricity balance analysis, transformer loss analysis, and various auxiliary analysis functions; Interconnect with the OA system to facilitate various client access monitoring and energy consumption data queries.
