The Nanjing Jiangsu Grand Theater is located in the western section of the cultural and sports axis of Hexi New City, Jianye District, Nanjing City, west of the Nanjing Olympic Sports Center, adjacent to the Yangtze River and facing the Jiangbei New Area across the river. It is the largest modern grand theater in China and the largest theater complex in Asia.


The Jiangsu Grand Theatre covers an area of approximately 200000 square meters with a total construction area of 270000 square meters. It is the largest cultural project in Jiangsu Province and has been designated as a "world-class platform for showcasing art works, an international platform for exchanging artistic activities, and a platform for promoting public welfare art education.".


The Jiangsu Grand Theatre includes a 2280 seat opera hall, a 1001 seat theater hall, a 1500 seat music hall, a 2711 seat variety hall, as well as a 780 seat small variety hall and ancillary facilities. It meets the functional needs of opera, dance, drama, traditional Chinese opera, symphony, quyi, and large-scale variety shows, has the conditions and ability to receive world-class art performance groups, and is also a cultural activity venue for the public.


The foundation of Jiangsu Grand Theatre was laid on December 26, 2012. On June 15, 2015, the civil engineering and steel structure of the music hall, theater hall, and variety hall of the Grand Theatre were completed. On August 5, 2017, the theater was officially put into operation, echoing the north and south of the Beijing National Grand Theatre.

With its advantages of high precision, high reliability, and high cost-effectiveness, it provides accurate monitoring and control of all electrical parameters in the power transformation and distribution system of the Grand Theater, such as three-phase voltage, three-phase current, active power, reactive power, frequency, demand, and bidirectional energy metering, providing strong safety guarantees for the operation of the Grand Theater.
